In 1959 a delegation from the Bolshoi Ballet visited Ethel Voynich on the occasion of her 95th birthday. The encounter took place in the apartment Ethel shared with Anne Nill in the London Terrace Towers in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. The visit was filmed by the news organization British Pathé, and the clip is available for viewing at British Pathé's Web site at the link above. Twenty-four seconds into the clip Anne Nill appears. Thirty-eight seconds in there is a brief close-up of Ethel's reproduction of the Franciabigio portrait of a young man, which she claimed to be her inspiration for the title character of The Gadfly.
